FICHA Nacionalidad: Italia Catania 1801 - 1835 Nacido en el seno de una familia de músicos, estudió en el Conservatorio de Nápoles, en 1819, ayudado por el mecenazgo del conde de S. Martino. Muy pronto presentará su primer trabajo, la ópera "Adelson e Salvini", recién acabados sus estudios. "Bianca e Fernando", su segundo trabajo, lo estrena un año más tarde en Nápoles. Tras viajar a Milán, conoce al libretista Felice Romani y ambos componen "Il Pirata" (1827), "La Straniera" (1829), "Zaira" (1829) e "I Capuletti e i Montecchi" (1830). En 1831 se subieron a los escenarios de Milán sus dos obras maestras "La Sonnambula y Norma". A pesar de los éxitos repetidos, su ópera "Beatrice di Tenda" resultó un fracaso, lo que motivó la ruptura con el libretista Romani, quien viajó a París y contactó con Cherubini, Chopin Heine Listz y Rossini . Su obra se compone de óperas, sinfonías, canciones, un corcierto para oboe y composiciones religiosas. Sus dotes musicales quedan mejor demostradas por la belleza de la composición y la intensidad dramática que por su dominio de la técnica. Çàòåì Áåëëèíè ñîâåðøèë òðèóìôàëüíóþ ïîåçäêó íà Ñèöèëèþ (Ìåññèíà, Êàòàíüÿ) è â Íåàïîëü, ïîñëå ÷åãî âåðíóëñÿ â Ìèëàí äëÿ ðàáîòû íàä îïåðîé Áåàòðè÷å äè Òåíäà (Beatrice di Tenda), êîòîðàÿ ïðîâàëèëàñü íà ïðåìüåðå â òåàòðå «Ôåíè÷å» â 1833.  òîì æå ãîäó Áåëëèíè äèðèæèðîâàë ñâîèìè îïåðàìè – Íîðìîé è Ñîìíàìáóëîé â Ëîíäîíå, à çàòåì îáîñíîâàëñÿ â Ïàðèæå. Äëÿ ïàðèæñêîãî «Òåàòð Èòàëüåí» èì áûëè ñîçäàíû Ïóðèòàíå (I Puritane, 1834) – ïðåìüåðà îïåðû 25 ÿíâàðÿ 1835 ïðîøëà óñïåøíî. 23 ñåíòÿáðÿ 1835 Áåëëèíè, ñòðàäàâøèé áîëåçíÿìè ïå÷åíè è æåëóäêà, ñêîí÷àëñÿ â Ïþòî áëèç Ïàðèæà.
