In the Matter of Robert Faurisson JOHN BENNET Statement on oath by John Tuson Bennett of 122 Canning Street, Carlton Melbourne Australia, barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria. I, John Tuson Bennett of 122 Canning Street Carlton Melbourne make oath and say as follows: 1. I am a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and have been employed by the Attorney General's Department of the Government of Australia since 1968, and am currently working in the legal aid section of that Department. 2. I graduated in law with honors from the University of Melbourne in 1958 and graduated in arts with honors from the same University in 1966. 1 am the author of various publications such as Freedom of Expression in Australia The Handbook of Citizens Rights Police Powers and Citizens Rights and Your Rights Your Rights has sold over 120,000 copies in Australia and is the standard reference work on human rights in Australia. 3. I have been the Secretary of the Victorian Council for Civil Liberties since it was founded in 1966. The VCCL supports freedom of speech, freedom to conduct research, freedom to publish and freedom from arbitrary government actions; it investigates police misconduct, invasions of privacy and allegations of transgressions of citizens' rights, promotes law reform; and it takes steps to advise the public of their rights. 4. As a private citizen, I have exercised my own personal right to freedom of speech to conduct research and to publish my findings in various controversial areas of "history." In particular, I have conducted research into the treatment of Jews in Europe in WWII. I have come to the same conclusion as that reached by Professor A. Butz, Professor H. Barnes and Professor J. Martin in the United States of America, and by Associate Professor Robert Faurisson in France, that there was no plan in WWII to exterminate Jews and that there were no mass gassings. Professor Helmut Diwald has also raised serious questions about the Holocaust in his book

and trial. But it may simply be an extension of the meaning of “ right,” or of the sense of “leave “ which is found in early uses of the French loi. In this work the laws or uniformities of the physical universe are dealt with in the articles on the various sciences. The general principles of law in the legal sense are discussed under JURIsPRUDENCE. What may be described as “national systems” of law are dealt with historically and generally under ENGLISH AUTHORITIES.—The various legal articles have bibliographies attached, but it may be convenient here to mention such general works on law, apart from the science of jurisprudence, as (for English law) Lord Halsbury’s Laws of England (vol. i., 1907), The Encyclopaedia of the Laws of England, ed. Wood Renton (1907), Stephen’s Commentaries on the Laws of England (1908), Brett’s Commentaries on the present Laws of England (1896), Broom’s Commentaries on the Common Law (1896) and Brodie-Innes’s Comparative Principles of the Laws of England and Scotland (vol. i., 1903); and, for America, Bouvier’s Law Dictionary, and Kent’s Commentaries on American Law. which happened on the 31st of August 1900, he took measures to ensure the continued existence of the Rothamsted experimental farm by setting aside Lioo, ooo for that purpose and constituting the Lawes Agricultural Trust, composed of four members from the Royal Society, two from the Royal Agricultural Society, one each from the Chemical and Linnaean Societies, and the owner of Rothamsted mansion-house for the time being.

GORTARI ALEXANDER. Caleb P. Alexander was a partner along with Caleb Brock and Joseph and John McKean who went together with William Matthews to form the Tennessee-Texas Land Company which brought at least 17 families to the DeWitt Colony. In DeWitt Colony land records he is listed as arriving married with a family of 25 on 26 Feb 1830 and receiving title on 5 May 1831. Survey records do not appear and records indicate the title or grant along with that of Caleb Brock was "set aside by decree of court in 1843." The large number listed as family likely include servants although the number may in some way been related to the land contract to bring families to the DeWitt Colony. According to testimony by John McKean in 1837, Alexander and Brock failed to fulfill their part of the contract. In 1845 while living in ShelbyCo, TX, Alexander
