Johann Chrysostomus Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
One of the greatest musical geniuses in history, born at Salzburg, Austria , 27 January, 1756; died at Vienna, 5 December, 1791. His father, Leopold Mozart, assistant choir-master and court musician to the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg , was one of the most distinguished musicians of his time. He was the author of the best method for violin-playing written up to that period, and was a man of thorough education and sterling character. Realizing his son's extraordinary endowments, and also the great musical gifts of his daughter Maria Anna, five years Wolfgang's senior, he devoted all his energy and knowledge to their education. Wolfgang at the age of three was wont to spend whole hours at the piano, discovering, to his great joy, consonant intervals, and was not yet four when he began to receive from his father systematic training in piano-playing and in the theory of music, improvising even before he could write notes. Violin-playing came to him practically by intuition, a fact which he demonstrated to the astonishment of his father and a company of artists, by performing at first sight the second violin part in a trio for stringed instruments. He was not yet five when his father wrote for him a theme for the piano with variations, which he had himself composed. So correct was the child's ear that he would remember the tone pitch of a violin which he had heard even weeks before. His sensitiveness was such that harsh sounds were distressing to him, a blast of a trumpet almost causing him to faint away.

This Many People Have Visited These Halls of Musicality: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in the year 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. He was one of the truly great composers of all time, according to one of the wisest men of all time, Albert Einstein, who said "Mozart was the greatest composer of all." Wolfgang was the son of Leopold Mozart, an esteemed composer and violinist in his day. The entire Mozart family possessed a great musical talent. Wolfgang, his father Leopold, and his loving sister Nannerl all were respected musicians in their specific genre.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was considered the prodigal child of music due to his early start in composition. He first started to compose before he was five, and he performed with his sister at the court of Empress Maria Theresa at age six. At age seven, Leopold organized a tour that included Paris, London, and Munich. By age 13, Mozart had written sonatas, concertos, symphonies, operas, and religious works that turned the heads of many great composers who were much his senior. An astonishing fact reveals that Mozart spent more than 14 of his 36 years alive on the road performing and improvising with his well developed skills.

Type: Music Book - Instrumental Folio
The magnificent Clarinet Concerto In A Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is featured in this new folio from the "Music Minus One" series. Composed for friend and clarinetist Anton Sadler during the last months of Mozart's life, this work iswritten in the conventional three movements associated with a concerto, but it transcends conventionality in it's remarkable sense of repose and serenity. It's popularity as a performance piece grew when it was featured in the 1985 motion picture "Out of Africa."
This volume contains parts for both the Bb clarinet and an A clarinet. The accompanying CD features a full chamber ensemble conducted by Nayden Todorov, music director for the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra and the Plovdiv National Opera. Sample performance tracks include soloist Denitza Lachieva, one of the premiere clarinetists in classical music today. The CD also features a play-along track minus the solo clarinet for your own solo performance with the ensemble. 38 pages, $33.46, Item number 1060242

Leopold Mozart was born in Augsburg, on 14 Novembre 1719. After his father's death he was directed towards a clerical career by his teachers and patrons, and in 1737 moved to Salzburg where he enrolled at the Benedictine University. There Leopold Mozart studied philosophy and jurisprudence, taking the bachelor of philosophy degree in the next year; in Septembre1739, however, he was expelled for poor attendence at the college. He thereupon became a valet and musician to the Salzburg canon and president of the consistory of Johann Baptist, Count of Thurn-Valassina and Taxis, to whom he dedicated his six trio sonatas op.1 (1740). Shortly thereafter he appeared as a composer of Deutsch Passion cantatas and Latin school-dramas, and as a result he obtained a post in 1743 as fourth violinist in the court orchestra of the prince-archbishop. In addition, Leopold was made violin teacher to the choirboys of the cathedral oratory in the next year; later, in 1777, he also became a keyboard instructor there. In 1757 he was appointed composer to the court and chamber; the next year he advanced to the post of second violinist in the court orchestra, in 1763 to deputy Kapellmeister.

    Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
    Short Biography
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (January 27, 1756 - December 5, 1791). Born in Salzburg, Austria, Mozart is one of the finest and most popular musical composers of all time. A child prodigy from a musical family, he began composing at the age of five. His father Leopold Mozart, was also a composer, and some of the piano pieces of W.A. Mozart, especially the duets and pieces for two pianos, he wrote to play together with his sister Nannerl. Mozart lived much of his life in Vienna but traveled Europe extensively.
As a man, he became a Freemason, and worked fervently and successfully to convert his father before Leopold's death. The Magic Flute may well contain Masonic themes or meanings. The two coloratura arias in that opera, sung by the Queen of the Night, are intensely thrilling. In many of his works, Mozart wrote as beautifully for the human voice as for the violin or pianoforte. Mozart is the bridge to the Romantic period. His later symphonies pushed the envelope of his period's style of composition.
    Beethoven
, one of the best known classical composers, was greatly in Mozart's debt, and wrote Cadenzas to some of Mozart's works that lacked them, most notably Concerto No. 20, K. 466. Mozart often composed only sketches for his own parts, so great was his musical memory. He could also write an entire work on the day of its first performance. Pyotr Ilyich
