Aside from aesthetic concerns, as the waistline expands, so do the odds of contracting heart disease, certain cancers, high blood pressure, and diabetes, among other ailments. According to the American College of PhysiciansAmerican Society of Internal Medicine, boomers carrying 25 pounds more than they did in high school are at risk for any of these diseases.
