Introduction:- Bacon's real claim to fame is: not that he, as the lord chancellor, in 1621, was removed from office for accepting a litigant's bribe; nor, that he was the real writer of the Shakespearean plays (one of the controversies in English literature, the "Baconian controversy") ; but rather Francis Bacon is known as a philosopher, one of the first order. Bacon delineated the principles of the inductive method, which constituted a breakthrough in the approach to science, even though philosophers and scientists of the day, - and seemingly today, yet - repudiated both his theories and methodology, alike. Bacon argued that the only knowledge of importance to man was empirically rooted in the natural world; and that a clear system of scientific inquiry would assure man's mastery over the world. He was the originator of the expression, "Knowledge is power." He was quite taken up by the "materialist" theories and the resultant discoveries of both Copernicus and Galileo . Bacon, along with Galileo are known in the literature as "the great anti-Aristotelians who created the 'modern scientific' view of Nature."

The Francis Bacon Research Trust A DOORWAY TO THE WESTERN WISDOM TRADITION
    AND ITS INITIATES
The FBRT researches the life and works of Sir Francis Bacon (1561-1626), a great Initiate and secret Master, President of the Rosicrucians, first Grand Master of English Freemasonry, a philosopher, poet, judge and statesman, likened by his contemporaries to Socrates, Virgil and Nestor, referred to as both Solomon and Apollo, the Day-Star on high, Leader of the Choir of Muses, and foretold by Paracelsus as the remarkable being, Elias the Artist, who would renovate the arts and sciences and enable all things to become known. Bacon teaches us the Art of Discovery Bacon's method of teaching is a Treasure Hunt
    — A Game of Hide and Seek By playing the Game we become practised in the Art of Discovery Bacon stated that he took all knowledge as his province and was treading the path of the Ancients. The path involves Ancient Wisdom and Philosophy, the Mysteries, Cabala, Hermeticism, Magia, Neoplatonism, Alchemy, Geomancy, Christian teachings, the Arts and Sciences, Physics and Metaphysics, Drama, Entertainment and the Shakespeare authorship mystery. The path stems from Enoch, the great Initiate and King of Atlantis, and moves on into the future, to a New Atlantis and the Golden Age of Enlightenment. "What is Truth?" said jesting Pilate, and would not wait for an answer.
