Essay by gilbert harman, arguing for Prawitz's approach to the semantics of logic based upon an inferential role semantics.
http://www.nyu.edu/gsas/dept/philo/courses/concepts/meaning.html
The Meanings of Logical Constants
GILBERT HARMAN It seems to illuminate the meanings of logical constants to say how they contribute to the truth conditions of propositions containing them, as in the account of certain sentential connectives such as truth functions, the Frege-Tarski analysis of quantification, Kripke's semantics for modal operators in a quantified modal logic, and Davidson's treatment of certain sorts of adverbial modification in his paper about the logical form of action sentences. In all these instances, an account of contribution to truth conditions seems to tell us significant things about the meanings of the logical constants involved. It is not clear why this should be so. Compare the following examples: (1) the predicate `horse' is true of something if and only if it is a horse. (2) a construction of the form P and Q is true if and only if P is true and Q is true. There is something trivial about these clauses since you can know they are true simply by knowing that `horse' is an extensional (one-place) predicate and that `and' is a (two-place) truth functional connective. You do not even have to know what these expressions mean. Compare: (3) the predicate `borogrove' is true of something if and only if it is a borogrove.

Contemporary Philosophy of Mind: An Annotated Bibliography
...
Research Sources on Concepts of Person and Self
This is a bibliography of material where issues in moral philosophy are engaged with the theoretical tools of the cognitive sciences. Most items bear primarily on moral psychology and epistemology. The authors included here are applying concepts and theories from the cognitive sciences in ethics, rather than investigating research and theories in those sciences from a moral point of view. The bibliography is organized into the following seven sections: Since these different subject areas overlap, some items may fit in several of them but are only listed once.
