The purpose of the Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology track within Behavioral Sciences is to enhance students' knowledge and skills in this rapidly growing field. Students who seek this training enroll in the MA in Behavioral Sciences-General program, and focus their course work on Industrial/Organizational Psychology by completing the four core I/O classes. In addition, students can further customize their graduate course work in this field by selecting four electives, with approval of their advisor, from Psychology, Cross-Cultural, Sociology, Human Resources management, and other disciplines. Program faculty across Human Sciences have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, and are dedicated to students' success. Students in the I/O track come from diverse backgrounds. Many are returning students who have had successful careers in the Human Resources (HR) field, and wish to increase their knowledge. Other students seek new careers, or even first careers that I/O training will prepare them for. Internships are available with this track. Students can apply their coursework knowledge gained by working with approved external site supervisors. Many of our previous I/O student interns have been hired by their internship site agencies and institutions, or in very similar sites. These internships are available during the day only, currently.
