Introduction.
The primary concern of this study is the impact of access to electronic information resources on learning opportunities for young people. "Learning with hypermedia is essentially an information usage activity," ( Yang, 1997 : 71) which places this research firmly within the field of LIS information use studies. The focus of this study will be the individual youth and his/her entire electronic information environment, both school-related and personal. ( ). Initial inquiries carried out in the early stages of the research confirmed that, not only is access to electronic and digital information sources fragmented throughout separate schools, public libraries, and homes, there is also a lack of consistency of access within individual institutions ( Great Britain..., 1998

In addition, there is little written and less researched on the actual care that is planned and offered to Indigenous clients within hospitals at this current time. This study aims to develop a theory of care related to one Indigenous group within Queensland. The outcomes of this study will act as a basis for the development of education programs and support services for non-indigenous nurses in order to provide care that is more culturally appropriate to their clientele. Abstract:
This dissertation reports on research that used the grounded theory method to qualitatively analyse qualitative data. The aim of the study was to derive a theory which explained social influence processes within the substantive setting of turbulent change in selected local government organisations in the State of Queensland. It is contended that grounded theory is a valid research method with which to research the social influence processes of leadership, and that the use of sociological methods such as grounded theory has not characterised leadership research to date. The basic social process that emerged from this study is enhancing adaptability. Enhancing adaptability is a process whereby leaders improve their own adaptability to change situations and also improve the adaptability of followers to the turbulence and uncertainty of those change situations. This improved adaptability is enhanced by the individual characteristics of both leaders and followers, and it enables leaders to have a positive influence over the beliefs, perceptions, knowledge, and behaviours of followers.

Abstract Identity and cultural encounter - the case of Syrian Orthodox women. A discussion on Grounded theory.
The dissertation is a qualitative study of Suryoyo (Syrian Othodox) women living in Sweden. The main theme is the relation between the integration process in Swedish society and the women's cultural and religious background and ethnic identity. The core question posed is whether the women can be looked upon as "genuinely integrated" as participant subjects and citizens in the host society. A variety of qualitative methods are used: participation, observation, open interviews and narratives. Secondary analyses of available empirical material is also used. The narrative analysis is based on seven short life stories. Two separate cases are also presented: one - on the individual level - about a handicapped Suryoyo woman and the encounter with the immigrant receiving society and one - on the meso level - about the Suryoyo women1s effort to organize as a women1s committee in the Suryoyo Association. An overview of the religious and political history is a context presented which is of importance for understanding the women1s situation in the Swedish exile. The conclusion is that the women are partly "pseudo intergrated" in a genuine political , structural and societal meaning. The obstacles to intergration are gender related but reasons are also to be found in the religious/cultural background, weakness in language and education and general segregating mechanisms in Swedish society. All these factors are mutually connected and make a complex background to the women1s integration process. At the same time the women have a platform in their strong ethnic identity and experiences as active subjects mirrored in their life stories. This platform is a tool of importance in the mobilizing process.

25 Grounded theory revisited (1) Speaking only for myself ... In piece 24 I foreshadowed a series of pieces on different versions of action research and related methodologies. My purpose is so that, through a comparison, we expand our choices of ways of doing effective research. I've now chosen "grounded theory" as the first of these methodologies. You may recall that in an earlier sequence in this series (opiarm 16 to 20) I explored action research as a generator of theory which might be described as grounded. From time to time I deliberately explore fields which are up until then new to me. Grounded theory was such a field. It has long been my practice that at these time I initially mostly avoid the existing literature. I try to develop my own ideas first. This allows me to read more critically and with greater understanding. I revise my ideas when I read the literature. Since the earlier sequence on grounded theory I have been exploring the literature. And there I find (particularly in Barney Glaser's work) some enticing parallels with action research. (For example, he recommends not reading the relevant literature until later in a study.)

Appendix VI-Grounded Theory applied
The aim of this appendix is to illustrate the grounded theory development process outlined in section 2.2 Grounded theory method in chapter 2–Methodology. It provides samples of the material at various stages of the grounded theory process. The entire grounding process of the theory of presentation is too complex to be traced in detail. This appendix will therefore concentrate on one conceptual strand which resulted in the category of confluence cf . chapter 7–Confluence). By reproducing excerpts from documents, I want to trace the emergence of this category from initial codes and their refinement and change in memos until to the final concept. The authors of the documents are indicated in the excerpts' headings. The initial codes were chosen in the ‘open coding’ of reports written by the author and other witnesses ( cf . subsection 2.2.2 Coding
