The report was generated with The Master Genealogist (Gold Version) which I personally recommend for proper genealogical collection and publication purposes. Generation One . Charles Fox; born circa 1815 in Ireland (Charles Fox household, 1850 Census, Norfolk, County of St. Lawrence, New York, page 298, dwelling 2, family 2, In custody of Richard N. Fox.) (County Clerk, St. Lawrence County, 48 Court Street, Canton, New York 13617, Alien Reports Made Under the Acts of Congress Relative to Naturalization, In custody of Captain Richard Thornton Fox, 2412 Sterling Point Drive, Portsmouth, Virginia. Hereinafter cited as New York Naturalization Record.); married Amanda Gilbert, daughter of Ozias Gilbert and Eliza Ann Goodrich. Charles Fox was born in Ireland in 1814. Book A, Alien Reports of St.Lawrence County, New York State contains data showing he applied for Naturalization as a U.S. citizen on 12 February 1840. Personal information in the report indicates he was born in Ireland C. 1815 and had an occupation as a farmer in 1840. Charles had arrived in the U.S. in 1827, when he would have been about twelve. The report has a column titled 'When Admitted (as a citizen)', but only a check mark is in the appropriate column rather than a specific date. The check mark is probably an entry to repeat a date immediately above, which date was 17 September, 1844. Since non-native minor children became citizens when their parents were naturalized, it would appear that: a) Charles' parents did not opt for naturalization after emigration, or b) Charles may have emigrated from Ireland to the U.S. by himself, or with other unknown family members.

Charles James Fox Charles James Fox (1749-1806) inherited wealth and guidance from his father, who tutored him in gambling and who advised, "Never do today what you can put off 'till tomorrow." In 1768, just nineteen, the roguish Charles Fox took his seat in Parliament and quickly earned the esteem of his colleagues, Edmund Burke among them. The two joined forces on many causes, including that of the American Revolution, until Burke's horror over the French Revolution occasioned a permanent break. Fox fought for religious toleration, called for abolishing the slave trade, and advocated electoral reform. In defending his views he was a powerful orator, acknowledged as the ablest debater of his day. Neither party nor crown could dissuade him from following his own path. Above all things Fox hated oppression and intolerance, and in his passion for liberty transcended the conventional party politics of his day.
John Wilkes
Like Fox, John Wilkes (1727-1797), too, could be extravagant in his passions. He married into his money and was an active member of the proudly blasphemous Hellfire Club. A few years after joining Parliament in 1757, he began a weekly journal, The North Briton , that became notorious for its wit and wickedness. In the famous issue #45, Wilkes assailed a speech given in the King's name; he was jailed for his temerity. His

Charles James Fox Bennett
(June 11, 1793 - December 5, 1883)
Charles James Fox Bennett was a prominent Newfoundland businessman who campaigned against responsible government. He also led the colony's anti-Confederation forces in the late 1860s. Charles James Fox Bennett was born in Shaftesbury, Dorset, England, to Thomas and Leah Bennett. He was sent to Newfoundland in 1808 to act as a clerk, but soon established his own business. By the 1820s, he and his brother Thomas had formed C. F. Bennett and Company, an import/export firm. The business eventually expanded into other areas and by 1847, it included a foundry, a shipyard, a mine, and a model farm. Not surprisingly, Bennett was a lifelong supporter of the diversification of Newfoundland's economy. He served as the president of the Chamber of Commerce in 1836. His farming interests led him to help found the Newfoundland Agricultural Society in 1841. He also acted as an aide-de-camp to Governor Thomas Cochrane, a justice of the peace in 1834, and as a road commissioner. He married Isabella Sheppard in 1829. Bennett became involved in politics in 1842, when he announced his candidacy as a member for St. John's in the Amalgamated Legislature. He withdrew in favour of a seat in the Legislative Council in 1843. While there, he voted against several motions in favour of responsible government. After a brief absence from the legislature, Bennett returned in 1850 as a member of the Executive Council, where he continued his opposition to responsible government. He believed such a system was unsuited for the small and underdeveloped colony, and would tip the balance of government power in favour of Catholics (Bennett was Anglican). These opinions proved politically disastrous, eventually resulting in an alliance between non-Anglican Protestants and Catholics that persuaded the Colonial Office to grant responsible government in 1855. Bennett lost his seat on the Executive Council, and drew unfavourable government attention to his business dealings.

http://www.hfac.uh.edu/gbrown/philosophers/leibniz/BritannicaPages/Fox/Fox.html
Charles James Fox born Jan. 24, 1749, London
died Sept. 13, 1806, Chiswick, Devon, England Britain's first foreign secretary (1782, 1783, 1806), a famous champion of liberty, whose career, on the face of it, was nevertheless one of almost unrelieved failure. He conducted against King George III a long and brilliant vendetta; for this reason he was almost always in political opposition and, in fact, held high office for less than a year altogether. He achieved only two important reforms, steering through Parliament a resolution pledging it to abolish the slave trade speedily and, in the 1792 Libel Act, restoring to juries their right to decide not merely whether an allegedly libellous article had, in fact, been published but also what constituted libel in any given case and whether or not a defendant was guilty of it. Early life. Entry into politics. Fox was procured a seat in Parliament by his father in 1768. Two years later he was appointed a junior lord of the Admiralty but gave up his office in February 1772 in order that he might be free to oppose a bill (eventually the Royal Marriage Act) designed to prevent marriages of members of the royal family unless authorized by the king or ratified by the Privy Council. He reentered the government the following December as a junior lord of the Treasury, but the King, who already disliked him for his recent opposition, accused him of insubordination and dismissed him in February 1774. Already a friend of Edmund Burke, he naturally gravitated into the Whig group and before long was their accepted leader in the Commons. He went into opposition just when the controversy with the American colonies was becoming acute. Believing that the colonial policy of the prime minister Lord North was unjust and oppressive, he opposed it with unrestrained violence, but he later admitted that the American war was popular in England. The series of disasters sustained by the British troops in America, culminating in the capitulation of the army led by Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown (October 1781), eventually brought down North's government (March 1782). The King had to call in a Whig ministry, of which Lord Rockingham became prime minister, and Lord Shelburne (later marquess of Lansdowne) colonial secretary; Fox became the first foreign secretary in English history.
