64. About The Sport
I am pretty new to all this, and all I know of now is what people call hacky sack . What is the best way for me to get into the sport?
http://shredzero.tripod.com/about.html
Contrary to popular belief footbag was not developed in the 60's, but acctually dates back to the ancient times. It has roots in North America and Asia where the natives played with a bag made of animal hyde, filled with pellets or sand. Often games were played where the bag was to be kept off the ground as long as possible, now what we refer to as consecutive play. Later on, in 1960, the sport was taken to a competitive level in Malaysia where a game called Sepaktakraw (Say-pack-tack-raw) was developed. The players use the basic rules of vollyball and have a net that they kick the ball over to try to score points. The sport, rapidly growing in Asia, proved that it would have future potential as what we now call footbag net. In 1972, two men, Mike Marshall and John Stalberger got together and started kicking around a home made bean bag to experiment with it's potential as a co-ordination builder. Stalberger was recouperating from knee surgery and wanted a form of exercise and therapy. Little did they know that the sport they were about to create would become a large scale sport and game played by many around the world. They begain to refer to the game they were playing as "Hacking the Sack", and once it caught on they marketed their game under the trademark of "Hacky Sack" Although Mike Marshal died in 1975 of a heart attack, Stalberger continued playing the game knowing that it had a future potential, and later formed the National Hacky Sack Association. Marshall and Stalberger's name "Hacky Sack" was sold to the company Wham-o where it was made even more popular and has evolved into what it is today.

She practices two to three hours a day, but would prefer to practice for four except her homework takes away time from her playing. She does practice everyday, along with accomplishing her homework. “Personally, I like piano better because it has a larger range and can produce many more different touches (sounds) than the violin. Many people would dispute that, but that’s my opinion. Also, I feel more comfortable with the piano,” Ma said. “However, for violin, it’s easier to get a lyrical, horizontal line compared to the piano. Mainly because for piano, we’re trying to create a horizontal line by making vertical movements, like the action of the hammers hitting the string is vertical, but your playing horizontally. "

"NOT ANOTHER MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION WORKSHOP" (SIGH): ONLY THROUGH CREATIVE TEACHING CAN WE BE MULTICULTURAL
Beate Baltes, Ed.D. National University LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, U.S.A.
Abstract Educators are usually sensitive towards the diversity in our culturally pluralistic nation. Why, then, do they need to participate in another multicultural education workshop? Even research shows that many multicultural education efforts are ineffective. In order to change the negative attitudes that educators have towards multicultural education workshops, a trainer needs to be creative. He/She needs to build on the participants' backgrounds and beliefs since merely introducing a variety of multicultural methods will not bring the desired results.
THE PROCESSIONARY CATERPILLAR CREATIVITY IN THE CLASSROOM
James V. Biundo Southeast Missouri State University Cape Girardeau, Missouri, U.S.A.
Abstract
A French naturalist by the name of Jean Henri Fabre became quite intrigued by a species of caterpillar called the "Processionary Caterpillar." These caterpillars feed on pine needles and move through the trees in a long procession, one leading and the other following, each with its eyes half closed and its head snugly fitted against the rear extremity of the caterpillar in front.
