Teddy's Daily Snow and Weather Report: As of , March 22nd and 23rd, recent temperatures have been from +25 to 35 degrees F with snow depth about 6" inches and diminishing rapidly. Ron would want me to emphasize that the Laurentian Uplands (the 2,000 foot (above mean sea level) ridge/ continental divide from southwest of Isabella by Seven Beaver Lake and Mount Weber and Greenwood Mountain northeast to the Gunflint) is probably the only area that currently has snow for cross-country skiing. This largely uninhabited 30-mile-wide ridge was known to mapmakers of the 18th and 19th centuries as "Missabay Heights." March, with it's rapidly lengthening daylight, is a great time of year to hide away (from the bush war?) in a cozy, warm log cabin and watch the border country in mid-winter - alone, with your dog, or with your dog and another friend or two. Ron says cabins are available this week, next weekend, and beyond.

Trail System
We are settling into our beautiful new lodge that now serves as the base of operations for all of our year-round activities and programs. Our goal since March of 2001, when our base lodge was destroyed by fire, has been to create a new all-season activity center that merges us with our partner company, the historic Mt. Washington Auto Road in one very functional, well-designed building. We also felt very strongly about having a design that compliments our existing structures and location while linking us to the architecture of our history. With our new lodge, we feel we have achieved our goal. Our trail system at the base of Mt. Washington in the White Mountains is surrounded by spectacular views of the Presidential Mountain Range and is tended to by our highly skilled groomers. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers of every ability can find trails and terrain to match their skills. And our
