Norman Educators, Scholars, and Social Workers sir norman angell (18731967)English economist. Winner of the 1933 nobel Prize for Peace. http://www.geocities.com/edgarbook/names/n/norman.html
Extractions: Like Francis, or Germain, Norman was originally given as a descriptive nickname, like Edgar the Norman. It quickly became used as a name in its own right, however. Norman was already a common name in England before William the Conqueror (himself, a Norman) invaded in 1066. As a name, it died out in the 14th century in England, but not in Scotland. There was a revival of the name Norman after Charlotte Mary Yonge wrote her book The Daisy Chain in 1856.

Polski From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. The Nobel Peace Prize is one of five Nobel Prizes bequested by the Swedish industrialist and inventor Alfred Nobel . Four of the five prizes are awarded in Stockholm each year, but Nobel had stipulated in his will that the Peace Prize could not be awarded in Sweden. Instead the Norwegian capital of Oslo was chosen as the award site and a Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee is appointed to select the laureate for the Peace Prize. According to the will of Alfred Nobel the prize should be awarded "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".
