But, you see, because Rastafari are found everywhere and our philosophy is common, you will find that our influence and contributions are basically the same. Especially in the Caribbean region. Many people see it as a very good alternative to the established religions, especially to Christianity . They belonged mostly to Great Britain, and other European powers. However, times have changed. Britain no longer control these nations. We, the black African people, do. We should no longer cling to an outdated view that we need to go home we are already at home.

With the triumphant advance of the Reggae-music Rasta-curls became worldwide popular in the middle of the seventieth. Under the blacks of the Caribbean, Africa and the United States a kind of hair-renaissance began. Skillful woven braids and hair snails again were discovered. Before many blacks had tried to adapt the appearance of the whites; with hot pairs of pliers they had extracted their curls or they tried to restrain the ruffle with creams.
