Danbury United Reformed Church is more a village chapel than a church with seating for 80 people, although we have managed to squeeze in 110 for our diamond 60th anniversary service three years ago. A warm welcome in the name of our Lord awaits all who care to join or visit us on a Sunday morning for worship, usually at 9.45am. A little early for some folk but it leaves a full day for family activities to follow. Communion is celebrated on the second Sunday of each month. Sunday Club children start at 9.30am in the church hall. We share our minister with URC churches at Great Baddow and Howe Green, Sandon. It is housed in pleasant, modern buildings set in attractive grounds in the village of Holt, which is within easy reach of Trowbridge, Melksham and Bradford-on-Avon. It is a lively, active school with approximately 100 children on roll. At present the children are taught in four classes. Classes 1, 3 and 4 have a full-time teacher in each class. The teaching, in Class 2 is shared by the Headteacher and another member of staff. Some ESA support is available, placed across the school according to need. There is a School Association which supports social, educational and fund raising activities and all parents and other members of the village community are encouraged to become involved with helping the children, both at home and in school.
