In 1994, Eversley Forte first introduced the Cardio Athletic Kickbox workout in Northern California. It is now taught throughout the United States, Europe and South Africa. Ecofit, a Group Fitness Certification Organization with divisions in Germany and South Africa, has teamed up with Behind the Scenes Fitness to promote Cardio Athletic Kickbox in Europe. Extractions: This is an intense class designed to increase overall cardiovascular levels as well as muscle toning, agility and flexibility. The workout will be taught with high and low impact aerobics in three sections: a warm up session, a dynamic routine with participants building choreographed combinations focusing on both upper and lower body movements, and a cool down session. The last portion will isometrically target the back and the abdominals. Although no previous experience is required, prior participation in an aerobic or hi/lo class would be helpful. In addition, those with prior joint/back injuries can participate but are encouraged to do the movements low impact.

Extractions: Yes, we are like the videos you can purchase on the televsion in that we use many identical aerobic/martial arts moves during the aerobic (30-40 minutes) of the classes. In fact all of our instructors have seen and done his whole set of infomercial video's. We found that the moves are basic martial arts moves and are pretty much the same as the CardioKARATE Certification program teaches their instructors. You might say we are that and more...because we add the features listed below. No we are differnt from the video workout in that we also teach self-defense moves, actual combinations you could use on an opponent, and resistance training by slipping on those boxing gloves and punching the heavy bags. This "bag section" of the class is a favorite of many, and is also a great stress reliever. Since you can only do video training at the moment by watching a video alone, it appears the biggest difference is that in our classes you get personalized instruction from our instructors, and the comraderie of your classmates.
