Lagt ut: Søn 27.01.02 Jente- og guttelaget til Mosjøen Volleyballklubb deltok i ei turnering på Inderøya i helga. Så langt i sesongen var begge lagene ubeseiret, så de var klare favoritter foran gårdagens kamper. Guttelaget spilte sin første kamp mot Fjellmann fra Orkdal, og vant 2-1. Jentelaget møtte Namsos der de seiret 2-0. Både jente- og guttelaget møtte Inderøy i neste kamp, her ble motstanderen sterkere og begge lagene tapte 2-1 Mosjøen Volleyballklubb - Jenter og gutter år imponerte igjen, 5.11.01 Både Mosjøens jente- og guttelag vant alle sine kamper i helgas volleyballturnering i Namsoshallen.

Extractions: 2002 was a great year in Australian Volleyball with the Womens and Mens team competing in the FIVB World Championships in Germany and Argentina respectively. Success too on the beach with Kerri Pottharst and Natalie Cook finishing 3rd overall in the FIVB Beach World Tour amongst other great results for our Aussies. Check out all the results on the FIVB Website - www.fivb.ch. The Peters Ice Cream Beach Volleyball Tour ended on the Australia Day long weekend with the Australian Championships in Surfers Paradise. The Aussies reigned supreme over the International contingent during this 3-day event. Julien Prosser and Mark Williams overcame the Laciga brothers in the final after dual round winners Josh Slack and Andrew Schacht were knocked out in an earlier round. In the Women's comp the two most consistent teams over the summer played out the final with Kerri Pottharst and Natalie Cook getting the better of Summer Lochowicz and Kylie Gerlic. The two winning teams also took out the Tour Champion titles as well. For all the information on the Surfers event and all the Tour check out the Beach Tour link. The 19th Australian Volleyball Schools Cup has recently ended in Melbourne with over 100 schools and 328 teams (a new record) competing. Please check the link on the right for all the results. Planning is now underway for the 20th AVSC to be held in Melbourne from Dec 7 - 12, 2003

Families played 6 vs. 6. Beach volleyball became the principal sport in a French nudist camp founded in Franconville (north-western suburb of Paris). First two-man beach volleyball game was played in Santa Monica, California. Beach volleyball appeared in Palavas, Lacanau and Royan (France), around Sofia (Bulgaria), Prague (Czechoslavakia), and Riga (Latvia). In the US, people would escape the depression by going to the beach, 4 vs 4 and 3 vs 3 games were played. First official two-man beach tournament was held, at State Beach in California. It was organized by Holtzman and won by Saenez-Harris. First tournament held in California (Los Angeles), awarded the best teams with a case of Pepsi as the winners' prize. 1950's Open tournaments held at five beaches in California. Santa Barbara State Corona Del Mar Laguna San Diego Beach volleyball became an entertainment show and Beauty Contests were included in the official program. First Brazil tournament took place, sponsored by a Newspaper Publishing company. Bernie Holtzman and Gene Selznick won an event that featured Greta Tyson, star of "Pajama Tops", as Queen of the Beach. Beach volleyball became more than a sport, it turned into a real show.
